Hebrew 4:16 " Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need." There are a number of examples of intercession given in the Bible and one of the best examples is in Genesis 18, when Abraham speaks to God on behalf of Sodom. His plea is compassionate, heart-felt, and with genuine concern for the well-being of others, rather than for his own needs. Such self-less concern shows the true act of intercession.
Another example is found in Exodus 15:25 when Moses led Israel three days into the wilderness and they had no water to drink. Moses interceded on their behalf and God provided. Even Pharaoh asked Moses to intercede for him in Exodus 8:28 that God would depart the swarms of flies and God did so. We must go before God and intercede for those who have no faith, those who have fallen away from Jesus, for the renewal and unity in all Christian churches for the respect of life, for abandonment, the forgotten children of the world, third world countries, our enemies foreign and domestic, human and spiritual.
God has given us the power though intercession to seek personal transformation and the transformation of this world.
